Jarrod and Sara met in church and are high school sweethearts from a small town in Ohio. Growing up, it was never their plan to be missionaries or move halfway around the world, but God’s leading is unpredictable sometimes.

In 2012, they went on their first mission trip and came home with a passion to return to Africa as soon as possible. Eventually, they found Experience Mission's IMMERSION program! They prayed about it and started the application process, eventually selling their car, renting their home, and packing everything they owned into a storage unit. It was a life-changing three months, compelling them to start a whole new chapter in their story of following God.

Jarrod and Sara have dedicated the next three years to serving with EM, supporting the vision to empower local people to serve within their own countries and abroad.

In January, they will move to South Africa, helping lead short-term trips and implementing a new program for South African college students. They’ll spend time at universities, encouraging young adults to step out of their culture and comfort zone and recruiting leaders to participate in EM’s internship opportunities.

They will also continue to build healthy relationships with local partners, identifying students for EM's Education Initiative and small business owners for the Microloan Initiative.

But to make all of this possible, they need your help. Jarrod and Sara will be working for the next several months as EM interns and have some big fundraising goals ahead of them.
