I believe that God calls us to go. “ Go therefore and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” Matthew 28. This verse is a command not a suggestion. I figured out that my life isn’t really my life. I will never forget this story a pastor told me about a girl who lived in Korea. She was a new believer and she went up to an official. She started proclaiming the good news of Christ. The pastor told her that she can’t do that because she could go to jail or maybe even get killed. She said, “He died for me, will I not live for him?” I had forgotten about what Christ did for me. Growing up in a Christian family we hear it all the time at church, but do we ever recognize the truth of it. To us, it’s just a story we have heard over and over again. It’s not a story, it actually happened. God sent his only son to die a criminals death, a brutal death. You couldn’t even recognize he was a man. He was hung on a cross and buried, but he rose again on the third day. He defeated death for us and he took what we deserved. So I’m going to live my life for him. God called me on a mission trip to Guatemala where I got to see the amount of impact just one little group could make. I learned that God always has a plan and that everything happens for a reason. Throughout the week in Guatemala, the verse Exodus 2:25 which says, “God saw the people of Israel and God knew.” God knows everything that’s going to happen to you and me. I would much rather have my life in the hands of an all knowing, gracious, merciful, and all powerful God. After my mission trip to Guatemala I discovered that God is calling me into missions. I decided to take a gap year and I'm proud to say God is sending me to South Africa, Haiti, Jamaica, and Belize. Please pray for me to be strong and courageous through out this journey.
