Over the summer of 2023 I worked at a 2 week overnight camp called Winshape Camps for Boys. While I was here I was surrounded by so many amazing, godly men who challenged me to think about the stuff I did rather than just wander. This was what I was doing when it came for college. I began to get very anxious because I knew I wanted to go into missions but something didn't feel right about going. I knew that I wanted to go but this year wasn't the year to go for some reason. I began to talk to my parents, pray about the future, and ask God to make light my next steps. While doing this, my mom came across this one website called Experiencemission.org. She had been reading about their Immersion gap year program and they actually managed to answer all her questions. Well God had been working this plan long before I knew about it because so many factors just lined up. I was supposed to go internationally with my high school last year but it fell through, so I already had a passport (If I hadn't already had mine it would not have come in time for the trip). Every question they asked in the interview, I could answer through things God started teaching me at Winshape. I had so much joy and peace about this decision without even knowing that God was going to let me get in or not!! Now I am so pumped to be given such a fantastic opportunity! I wish to grow deeply, relying more heavily on God's strength and word. I want to experience a whole new side of the world I've never been on and dive into their culture (this has been a dream of mine for a long time). Most importantly I only want God to be seen and not me. I pray that God would burn me with his all consuming fire and all that's left would be him.
