Hi! I will be going on an Immersion mission trip with Experience missions for 3 months starting January 6th. During this mission trip we will be in impoverished towns on the outskirts of Johannesburg and Pretoria, the westernized cities surrounding, and small farming communities where the materials are precious. I will be serving to reach people in the community through local partners. This will involve working in classrooms, visiting the elderly of the community, sorting donations, working with services that provide food to those in need, and leading VBS opportunities. During this 3 month trip I will be living with a South African family where I will have the opportunity to learn the language, experience the day to day life, and be enveloped in the culture while sharing my love for Jesus. God has greatly impacted my life in the past 7 months through a program called Mercy Multiplied. He has shown me the great love He has for me and that He has always had for me. He has shown me that my past is not who I am. I was held in bondage for many years to eating disorders, self-hate, depression, an absence of identity, and much more. All of this led me to a path of substance abuse and I completely threw my life away. God was so faithful to not only bring me out of my dark pit but to tear away all of that bondage in my life. For the first time I am experiencing true freedom in my life and I want to show that same freedom, through the HUGE love of Jesus, to those hurting in South Africa. This trip will mark a beginning to my life of freedom and a beginning to the life I will spend sharing that freedom.
