Hi everyone! If you don't know me, my name is Ella, and I am currently a Sophomore at Gordon College. Over the past few years, I've spent a lot of time praying and reflecting on my purpose and the unique plan God has for my life. I've loved serving through volunteering while balancing work and school, but recently I began to sense God inviting me into something deeper, something that would allow me to serve more intentionally and more fully. That's when I discovered Experience Mission and their IMMERSION program.
IMMERSION is a one-month, cross-cultural missions program for young adults who desire to serve and learn alongside local communities. From the moment I learned about it, I felt an overwhelming sense of peace and excitement. I applied, and to my amazement, I was accepted! Since then, everything has come together so quickly, and I truly feel God's hand at work throughout this entire process.
This May, I will be traveling with a team to Namibia, Africa, for a full month. I never imagined I would have the opportunity to serve in Africa, and while there, we'll partner with local communities, build meaningful relationships, and take part in projects such as supporting children through school initiatives and church outreach. We'll live and serve alongside local people, learning from their wisdom, culture, and vision for their own communities. I know this experience will stretch me, shape me, and teach me far more than I could ever expect.
