My Story
Let me introduce myself, my name is Joanna Asher and I attend the missionary church in Newton, Kansas, where I've grown up. I graduated high school when I was 16 and decided to take a gap year before potentially going to college, and I wanted to spend that time doing missions work overseas.
After looking at all my options I found this really awesome opportunity to work not only with really amazing local people, but to work alongside many awesome people in a similar stage of life and who are as passionate about missions and travel as I am!
So this trip is to Belize and I'll be there for about 3 months with a short training camp in the states before I leave. We'll be working a lot with the community and the churches there and just blessing the locals in whatever way we can and whatever way they need. For a portion of the time we'll also be working with some of the farmers in the community and learning a bit about agriculture while we're at it!
Overall it's gonna be really awesome and I'm super excited to get in and get my hands dirty while showering the locals and my team in love! I can't wait!
