Hi! My name is Mayci and I am 19 years old. I attend Appalachian State University and plan to major in child development! I want to use this degree to help children particularly in Africa. I do not know specifically how I want to help yet but I know I want to work with kids. That is one reason why I want to go on this mission trip! The main reason I want to go on this trip though, is so I can spread the word and love of God.
I was baptized when I was very young but I don't think I was really saved until about 3 years ago. It was at one of my favorite summer camps. Last summer, at this same summer camp, there was an invitation to people who felt like God was calling them to missions/ministry. I was one of these people and ever since then, I have just felt God pulling me towards Africa so I am very excited to pursue this trip. I was originally supposed to go to Haiti this summer with a different organization but that trip was canceled due to the violence in Haiti. The same day I found out the trip was canceled, I began looking for trips to Africa because this is where I know God is calling me. The first trip I came across was this one month trip to Namibia. I know that this trip is a door opened to me by God. I am super excited to see what God has in store for me through this trip and to see what God will do through me while I am there. I would first of all like to ask that you all remember my group and I in your prayers as we travel to Africa in May.
