My Story

Missions have been something that has been on my heart for a bit. Although there are many organizations out there through finding this one I felt as though God was truly calling me! Through this adventure to Cuba, I pray God uses and challenges me in new ways.

I truly believe stepping back and seeing the world differently through others lives/eyes is what makes us more like Jesus. And that is just what this trip is about. Focusing on things bigger than just me. I hope you're able to join me in preparing for my trip whether it be through prayer or monetarily.

Thank you for hearing my heart.
Sincerely,
Brandi (:

Hello internet friends!
I just wanted to let you know my adopt a box RAFFLE is starting NOW! If you don't already know I am going on a mission trip to Cuba in May! (if you haven't heard check out my posts on my social media and a picture of the raffle prize) How you can be apart of this fundraiser to help me reach my financial goal is simple! Find a box of a number 1-55, message me and decide to "adopt", and then within the next month (through this web page) donate that number in $$ and I will THEN put your name in a RAFFLE!! This prize includes both an Amazon and Nike gift card and some other little goodies pictured. Along with a hand knitted blanket similar to the above picture made by yours truly. This prize is really for anyone (no matter gender)! And is valued over $150 dollars!! In addition, depending on which line you pick from increases the number of times you'll be added to the raffle! (For ex: any number from LINE 1 gets entered once but from LINE 3 your name is entered 3 times and so on...) Also, I will be updating you all throughout the whole process on reaching the goal/boxes still available etc. If you have any questions message me privately and I can answer!! Thanks for readin!

Hello everyone! I hope the New Year has treated you well so far!

This time of the season I usually do a lot of personal reflection on what the past year was like. For me, 2018 was a year of self-growth. And I’m THANKFUL for it. Some of my highlights include finishing my first year of college, becoming a Young Life leader, and signing up to go on this mission to Cuba. (Which by the way is in exactly 111 DAYS?!)

With all this craziness of life and trying to balance what I had on my plate I oftentimes got overwhelmed. Throughout the year this feeling was all life was. But, I had a realization. The reason I let life overwhelm me was because I wasn’t giving my issues to God. When I finally started doing this the big issues and decisions I needed to make felt tiny compared to what I could handle with HIS guidance and wisdom. This didn’t necessarily make these feelings disappear but it shifted my mindset from that of being focused on myself and what I was capable of back focused on all the blessings I’ve received in the past. To all the times the future wasn’t so clear but God didn’t desert me. He had not failed me.

If you are in a moment of sadness or confusion about what you’re doing or what is going on with your life I advise you no matter if you believe in God or not give it to him! Having a conversation and praying to him about what is on your heart allows yourself to get real about what your going through and opens yourself up to being willing to ask for help in figuring things out.

During these past couple months, I slowly started doing this more. There was a time when I had an important decision I needed to make in my life. I went to people I trusted and respected for advice but the conviction God gave me to do what seemed “irrational”, in the moment, was stronger. Sometimes leaning on his understanding is all we can really do to get through confusing times in life. In the end, everything I needed to figure out got settled and I believe this is no coincidence. Without God’s hand I would never be able to even think about going on this trip.. but here I am (:

There is this song in church we’ve been singing lately and the main lyrics to it are simple. They say “Yes and Amen”. Going into this year and beyond that is the type of posture I want to have. One that says “Yes Lord, I see my situation and I say yes to your plan.” And although I may not be in charge “Amen.” or so be it.

That is my encouragement to you all.
