My Story
As you may know, I have been living in the city for almost three years while working as a Case Manager Assistant in a local homeless shelter. It has been a beautiful but challenging journey as I discover what God has for my life as I walk alongside others. Since the age of twelve I've had a heart for global outreach, sharing Christ's love to unreached, impoverished, and marginalized communities. As a follower of Jesus, I'm a firm believer that I'm called to love, serve, and utilize the blessings He's given me to care for others and grow His Kingdom. This call has led me to an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to serve in Israel for three months.
From January - March 2023 I will be volunteering in refugee camps and doing agricultural projects through Experience Mission's Immersion program. Our team of young adults will be living with host families in Bethlehem as we visit historical sites and partner with organizations such as the Palestine Natural History Museum and the Tent of Nations. Through these partnerships, we hope to share the message of unity in Christ, to communities known for conflict and division.
I was nervous to begin this journey, but ecstatic to be challenged and grow as I step outside of my comfort zone. God doesn't call his children to live comfortably; He calls us to follow His lead, wherever it is we are taken. As I step away from my job, apartment, and daily routine, I ask that you pray for God to give me the safety and strength to do His will. I can't go without a community of support behind me!
