My Story
Hi! Hello! My name is Heaven and this is my story: The last 18 months of my life was spent pursuing my audit career and studying for the CPA exams. Luckily, I passed the exams, (a true miracle), but during that time, my faith grew so much deeper and I began to experience and feel the Lord's consistent pursuit for me in a whole new way.
I got involved in a new small group where we studied the book "Radical" by David Platt that quite literally - radically - changed my life. I joined this group halfway through my exams and through reading this amazing book, I began to question why I needed to pass the CPA exams when I should be out in the world making disciples and sharing the love of Jesus with all people.
SO many people are lost and don't even know it!
And here I am studying every. single. day. of. my. life. I need to be out there! The Lord humbled me and reminded me that His plan is greater than any plans of my own. I studied diligently for my exams but also began serious research on global mission trips that I can be a part of.
In the past couple of years, I have become so passionate about traveling and I have gotten to see some amazing places. I truly want to see every corner of this world, with eyes wide open. I don't think my passion for traveling was instilled in me by accident - or as a new millennial fad. I think the Lord has blessed me with this passion - to spread the love of Jesus and preach the Gospel to lost people all over the world.
After weeks of looking up missions trips and praying ceaselessly - I discovered this Namibia trip with Experience Mission. I spent an entire night watching so many videos of past trips; I read the testimonies and just cried, and cried. I found the answer to my biggest prayer at 3am on a work night. Namibia is where I must go - for a month.
Sure, it will be challenging, but I am so excited to grow with the Lord and be a part of something greater than myself. I ask that you please pray for me as the Lord prepares me for this coming trip, and that He will help fund this trip through those that are willing to give. Help me make it to Namibia this coming May and answer the call God has placed on my heart.
