My Story
Although I've been on a handful of short-term missions, I've always been the person to think "long-term missions is so cool, but that'll never be me." The Lord has very much shown me otherwise and is teaching me that it's His Will over mine.
I've found comfort being back in the suburbs of Chicago this last year, with my closest people nearby. But I'm being taught that HE is where my greatest comfort should settle, and sometimes that means the Lord has to disrupt our schedules and surroundings to truly rely on Him - leading me to go to Costa Rica for a 3 month IMMERSION trip!
I'm extremely grateful for this opportunity. To walk in His Will and His Way, to walk in the path that He's calling me to, to walk in the discomfort, and to serve His people in such a unique and beautiful way. What a gift! What a God!
My prayer during this season is to know God in new ways, and for Him to wreck all expectations I have of this trip, and wreck the expectations I have of who I THINK He is. I don't want to think I know God, I want to truly know Him.
