Hey peeps! It is 12:28 in the morning, and I had the bright idea to write an update on my fundraising and my life right now. I took my last college final this week, and I am on track to graduate this August! School has consumed me these past few months, and college is hard, but worth the battle. I am now officially in summer mode, full of trips and lots of memories to cross off my bucket list. I leave for Costa Rica in four-ish months and have begun buying the necessary equipment and supplies needed for my three months abroad. While I am on track with fundraising (yay for being 70% funded!), I have felt weak in my preparation spiritually. I've often heard that the devil hits us with our hardest temptations and battles when he knows we are about to move big for God's Kingdom. I have felt inadequate and nervous when I think about my upcoming trip. Will I fit in with my team? Will God use me? Why was I chosen to go? Am I ready to leave home? Am I worth it? All these thoughts have sat in the back of my mind, but tonight at church, God cleared some doubt and spoke to me. After an amazing sermon on conquering the devil's lies in our lives, I prayed for God to help. I was overcome with reassurance, a new confidence, and a feeling of purpose. It's as if He was whispering to me, "Georgia, you've got this. You were selected for this trip for a reason, and I have a plan." What a response. I don't have all the answers. I don't know what is going to happen between now and my departure for my Immersion trip. I don't have a plan, but God does, and I am slowly learning to accept that. I am learning to give up control and allow God to move. So with that, here's to the journey I am on, the journey that is coming, and everything in between!

I am four weeks into the new year, and there is so much going on. School is back in session and is as difficult as ever, I am still working my same part time job, and I am serving with my church, 12Stone. Through all of this, I am also preparing myself for the biggest adventure of my life, Costa Rica, which is coming in just a few short months. I am so blessed to be 30% funded for my trip, and all of the thanks goes to God and those who have donated so far. It is a blessing to know so many loving people who support me on this journey. I am excited to see what's coming in the next few months, to meet my Immersion team members, and to start packing my backpack for three months abroad. As I get closer and closer to my departure, I ask for immense prayers, both for me and my teammates, for I predict God is going to radically change lives through this mission trip and provide a peace that I have yet to know. I will try and post updates as my fundraising journey continues and keep you all up to date!
