My Story
Wow! I can't believe I am here, planning and preparing to go on a six month mission trip! It has been truly an amazing sight to see the ways in which God has been working in my life to bring me to this point.
As many of you know, I have developed a huge desire to travel the world, meet new people, experience different cultures, and to hear new languages. I was planning on traveling to Spain this last summer to study abroad, but the Lord changed those plans when COVID hit us. And while it was a major disappointment to me, I can see now that he was preparing me for something even better!
I began considering possibly travelling on a missions trip. I have been on short, week long missions before (which taught me more than you can possibly know) but I thought, maybe it is time for something bigger. I began researching different missions organizations when I stumbled on Experience Mission. I saw the 6 month Caribbean trip, where a group would be travelling to 3 different countries. Belize, Jamaica, and Cuba. I began talking with the staff, to learn more about the trip, and with much prayer and advice from my close friends and family, I decided to pursue a place on the team! And I am so excited to say that I have been accepted on the team!
We (as previously stated) will be going to 3 countries. Belize, Jamaica, and Cuba. We will be primarily staying with host families and working with local churches, serving their various needs. This could be anything! Helping in kid's camp, participating in local bible studies, teaching english at the school, or even working on a farm!
Through much prayer and careful consideration, I feel like this is something that the Lord has really been leading me to do. I have been overwhelmingly supported and encouraged already by those in my family and church body, and continue to be blessed by you all with each new day.
I believe this is going to be an amazing opportunity, and I would be extremely grateful for your support, whether it be financially, or even your prayers. I am so thankful for every one of you, and can't wait to see how the Lord will work though this trip!
