My Story
My name is Lyneda Meyers. As many of you know, my brother and I were brought home to Idaho from Haiti 5 years ago. I have been blessed to have a family that loves God so much! Having a family that has such a strong faith and puts that faith into action has helped me tremendously in my upcoming decision.
I graduated this past year and decided to take a gap year to think about what it is God would have me do. (There are so many different things to do!) I have been working at the YMCA and serving at RockHarbor for a while now. Being in communities that help others has been extremely rewarding to me. I have made several friends who have been on missions trips and their stories have lit something within me! I have prayed a lot for God to give me direction in what he wants for me and my future. I believe sharing the gospel is one of the greatest things I can do!
As of this month, I have applied and been accepted to join Experience Missions in South Africa. I will be there for 6 months, fully immersed in the culture, community, and learning a new way of life! We have the opportunity to live with host families, work at schools, orphanages, and even assist the locals with ongoing needs like farming. I'll be going to 3 different places: South Africa, Lesotho, Namibia. I'm so excited to see how God is going to work in my life and the lives of others during my 6 month stay!
I cannot thank you enough for your love and support! This is a very big step for me and I am excited while also a little nervous. Please pray for me to grow in my relationship with God, to see things through his eyes, and for God to direct me in all I do.
