Hello! My name is Theresa Ann and I am from Nashville, TN. I am an Outreach Director at One Church Nashville and an Admin Assistant for Just Love Coffee. I've had a heart for missions ever since my first mission trip at just 16. I have learned so much about how typical American mission trips can be very harmful to developing countries' communities (Read How Helping Hurts if you want to know how!) and I deeply want to combat that while also still fulfilling the Great Commission. This is why I've chosen Experience Mission for this trip, because they work directly with local communities and long term missionaries in order to uplift and enable communities to thrive. On this trip, I will be experiencing the unique culture of the Himba tribe of Namibia and partnering with locals to serve them and come along side of their work to build up a community and fill in gaps that are desperately needed. This can look like being a teachers aide in the local school, hosting a sports club, or helping the locals with their market business. I'm very excited to see the people I will meet and the opportunities the Lord has for me during this month in Africa, and I really hope to bring you along that journey through your financial and prayer support!
