Hello from Chicago! As you may know, I’m in my sophomore year at Loyola University Chicago, and I love it here! You may have seen through fundraising requests, social media, or word of mouth that this past October I ran the Chicago Marathon to fundraise for children in Africa who don’t currently have access to clean water. Well, as that was a truly incredible experience, and I do plan on running it again, I have felt God calling me to actually be present and serve in Africa this summer. So, I applied to go on a 1 month trip to Namibia, Africa through Experience Mission. After an application, several reference letters, and an interview, I got accepted! I am so excited for the ways that God will work through me this summer on this trip.

So I will be shipping out on May 19th, and I’ll be coming home on June 19th! On this trip, I’ll be meeting several other college students, and we’ll travel together to Okahandja, Namibia. The goal of Experience Mission’s trips is to develop real relationships, and make real change, not just build something and leave. When I arrive,
I’ll be serving at a boarding school in Okahandja and a church in Swakopmund. While I’m there, I’ll be building relationships with and serving many locals. Many of these people I will be meeting have a vision on how to improve their community, and I’m so excited to work with and learn from them. I’m sure I’ll learn so many things being immersed in a brand new culture to me!

This is where you come in! An opportunity to go on a trip like this is incredible, yet impossible to do on my own. I'm asking you to help me create a network of supporters both through prayer and donations. I’ve started fundraising and have many great ideas to help fund my trip, and my goal is to get as many people involved on this journey with me as possible.
