My Story
My name is Cydni Lege'. I am currently 18 years old and a graduate of DTSMA as well as a freshman at ULL.
Since the age of 6 I have wanted to have a career that revolved around mission work. This idea stemmed from a family friend telling me all about Doctors Without Borders. I quickly found out that I could never do anything medical as it would just break my heart if I couldn't fix someones problem.
In middle school I got to know another family friend who was a missionary and I fell in love with what she did but I also had a heart for teaching... This is when I decided I would do both! I would teach & preach in third world countries.
I have since taken part in as many programs I could to make a difference in my world. I have worked homeless breakfasts, organized drives for the Red Cross, started my own platform, done mission trips with my church, and been a part of volunteer clubs. I have yet to grow tired of any of these things. I cannot begin to describe the joy of giving back and how real the love of God is when investing in people.
As a senior now, I'm ready for the next step. I'm ready to head on to my next big thing! This is it. I have always been a very independent and social person. To the extent that my family would have to stop me from visiting with everyone in the store when we went grocery shopping. In my mind, everyone had a story and something important to say and I wanted to know what it was. I wanted them to feel valued and important. As I've grown, this has only grown. I have more than just a want to see the world and meet everyone, but I want to love and make an impact. I want to make a difference. What started as a fascination, has become my passion and calling.
Romans 12 truly has inspired this next step in my life it says:
"So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you."

It is official that I am 100% funded!
I cannot thank every single person who donated to my trip enough.
At first it seemed almost impossible to raise this much for a trip. At first it seemed impossible to ask people to invest in me and invest in my mission to help and serve. At first it seemed impossible to just up and leave for 9 months without 100% certainty of each portion of this journey.
Of course, God turned each one of my impossibles into a simple step toward an amazing journey. God placed some very generous people in my path along the way from all different areas of my life. He showed me just how many people believed in me and he came through, as always. God defied every limit I tried to place on him and on myself. He was my peace through this all.
While many people have been stuck in a state of worry and anxiety during this crazy time in our world, God has proven to me time and time again that his timing is always good, right, and perfect. Whether it's when we planned of a few months after he has it under control!
My trip will happen when it is supposed to, my trip will have the team members on it that it is supposed to, and I will reach the people in the way I am supposed to!
Thank you to everyone who has played a part in getting me to this point and who has shaped me into who I am today!

Mark 16:15 says “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”
As we go about daily life we need to ask God to use us to share his message.
A song was playing in my car the other day when I was thinking about what I was going to talk about today, it was the song “Give Me Your Eyes”.
The song is about asking God to let us see the world the way he does. With the same love, the same passion, the same drive to make the world better…
The Chorus says:
“Give me your eyes for just one second
Give me your eyes so I can see, Everything that I keep missing
Give me your love for humanity
Give me your arms for the broken hearted, The ones that are far beyond my reach
Give me you heart for the ones forgotten
Give me your eyes so I can see.”
When you search for God, it will lead you to strange places.
In that moment listening to this song I wanted to meet God in strange places.
I want to know more of the God we serve. I long to see Him like I've never seen Him before.
I want to...
See what He sees
Feel what He feels
Love like He loves
Do what He does
I feel like the more I dive into this the more I will know out my God.
The more I want to be like my God, the more I want to read what he has to say and understand why he says the things he says.
Have you ever thought about how much you actually know about God? We feel like we know so much but really we haven't even skimmed the surface of who God is.
God is simple but complex.
Sometimes I find myself putting God in a box. I think “oh if I can't do that or fix that, God can't either.”
Yet every time I let my self try to minimize God he just turns around a prove/ the opposite. He has no limit not a single boundary.
I still haven't grasped the very idea of God, but I know I am striving to be reflection of Him.
The more I see what he sees, love like he loves, feel what he feels, and do what he does the more I am connecting and understanding who he is while letting him work THROUGH ME.
God has called each of us to “IMMERSE” ourselves in this world He has created - “to live out our mission.” That is what Experience Mission's Immersion Gap Year is all about and that's what I intend to focus on more intensely than ever in this upcoming year.

Hi Everyone!
In 20 days I have to have raised $1,000 of my trip tuition. This is a pretty hefty chunk of money. However, I know that where there is God’s will there is a way.
I am so excited for this trip. So many things have been pointing me in the direction of going and doing the Lord’s work. I truly haven’t felt nervous about the trip or even doubtful.
Acts 20:24 says:
“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.“
I am ready.
I am so thankful for each of you and your supportive words and donations already!
