The Story

Tse ee gai House of Joy Church has been one of Experience Mission’s key Community Partners for short-term trips to the Navajo Nation since 2009. As a ministry with a heart dedicated to serving their local community, they are actively trying to solve problems and create solutions to better assist those in need. They meet both spiritual and practical needs within their community through ministering the word of God, providing life-supporting ministerial care, training ministers, performing weddings and funerals, running a foodbank, renovating homes, donating firewood and warm coats, and more. They regularly reach out in support of several local churches and continuously seek out ways to serve community members and families in need.

For several years Pastor JR, his son Al, and the church congregation have run a food bank out of a small space in the basement of the church. This space is limited and barely enough to hold one semi-truck load of goods. In addition, loading and unloading of materials are done mostly by hand and the transfer space is rough, difficult to navigate, and inadequate to meet the volume of supplies they receive.

To better serve their community and reach out to their neighbors, Pastor JR and the Tse ee Gai House of Joy Church community are in the process of building a large warehouse on the church grounds with a loading dock and the necessary loading and unloading equipment to expedite the process of receiving, storing, and distributing supplies to those in need. (See photo slideshow for recent pictures of the progress that has been made so far!)

House of Joy has a fundraising goal of $90,000.  They have made solid headway with fundraising but still have a significant amount left to raise to help cover the  many costs involved in a project of this size. (building materials, labor costs, heavy equipment rental, travel expenses (fuel) etc... ) We hope to raise $40,000 in support of this project. Your financial contributions will help make their dream of an adequate warehouse space a reality.

DONATE NOW to help make this project a reality! Thank you in advance for your generosity and support of our close partners in ministry in the Southwest!

*All funds donated through this page will be sent directly to Tse ee Gai House of Joy Church in support of their ongoing work to build their new warehouse.
