Wickenson

CARREFOUR, HAITI
100% Funded
Still Needs $0 (of $450)

About the Student

Wickenson lost his mother years ago, and he just recently lost his dad due to a heart attack. His dad was his primary means of financial support, so this was not only devastating emotionally but also financially. He is now living with his little sister, and they’re surviving day by day with limited finances, and sometimes it’s a struggle just to put food on the table. Because of this, Wickenson has had to fight to remain in school and he faces the prospect of dropping out of his sophomore year. In this dark time of life, Wickenson is guided by his love of painting, singing, and songwriting which help him to stay positive in spite of the daily struggles. This scholarship will enable him to finish his sophomore year of high school, provide hope and prepare him for a brighter future.

Why Education Matters

Education empowers. EM's Education Scholarships help provide necessary education and mentorship for teenagers and young adults who need a "hand up" towards a better life that presents opportunities that would otherwise be out of reach.
