About the Student

Velineda currently lives with her mother and three sisters. Their father passed away and no one in the family formally employed, so they are in a very challenging financial situation. She is quite intelligent and because of her performance in high school she received a 50% scholarship for college. With this and some financial help from her pastor she was able to start her first year of classes. She chose to major in Business Administration, and she is doing well in her classes. Her favorite class right now is statistics. Still, she owes more tuition for her first year and her pastor is unable to assist her any more. This scholarship will enable her to finish her first year of college.
