About the Student
Chilanca is currently in her freshman year of college, and she is studying nursing because she loves to be able to help people. Unfortunately she has been missing classes because of a lack of finances and unless she gets some outside help she won’t be able to finish the school year. Her mother makes a minimal amount as a street vendor, and her father is not around so she has very limited support. Chilanca is determined to graduate college and establish herself in a career so she can help support her family, and this scholarship will enable her to get one step closer to hear goal.
