About the Student
Kervens is currently living in a small shelter with his brother. His father is unwilling to care for him at all and his mother is living in the States but has no job. The only person who ever supported his education was his aunt, but she died in the earthquake leaving him and his brother to fend for themselves. It is a challenge for Kervens even find enough menial work to cover meals and basic living expenses, so there is no way he can pay for education. This scholarship will enable him to move one step closer toward his goal climbing out of poverty and preparing himself for a future career.
