About the Student

Aland graduated high school last year and he had big plans for college, but his father who was his only financial supporter had a stroke and became paralyzed. His mother is unemployed and she has become the primary caretaker for his father so his family is in a very difficult situation. He is the youngest of 6 children and he and two of his brothers are still living at home with their parents. This scholarship will enable him to complete his first year of college, so your donation will truly help Aland build a brighter future for himself and his family. Aland loves language and management and he will be studying management at the University.

Why Education Matters

Education empowers. EM's Education Scholarships help provide necessary education and mentorship for teenagers and young adults who need a "hand up" towards a better life that presents opportunities that would otherwise be out of reach.

Direct Impact Donations

100% of donations towards our scholarships go directly to the community. Most of the scholarship goes directly towards school fees and supplies for the student, with a small percentage providing the time of both their personal mentor and the scholarship program director, both local community members.
