Jessica

PEITIONVILLE, HAITI
100% Funded
Still Needs $0 (of $500)

About the Student

Jessica currently lives in Petionville with her mother, 4 sisters, and 3 brothers. Her mother was laid of from her job so now no one in the family is formally employed. Her mother cooks a Haitian food called fritay and sells it in the street, but this brings in just enough income to survive. She can’t afford to send all of her kids to school, so Jessica was staying at home until she received this scholarship. She is currently in 8th grade, and she hopes to one day graduate from high school and become a “business woman.” She has not yet decided on a specific business but she would like to start her own business. In her free time Jessica loves to play soccer with the children in her neighborhood. She also enjoys watching soccer and her favorite team is Real Madrid.

Why Education Matters

Education empowers. EM's Education Scholarships help provide necessary education and mentorship for teenagers and young adults who need a "hand up" towards a better life that presents opportunities that would otherwise be out of reach.
