About the Student
Erline is six years old and she lives with her parents and four other siblings. Her mom is a full-time mom, and her Dad hauls trash for people to make a living. He is doing the best he can to support them, but he still barely makes enough money to keep food on the table. Yet despite their struggles the family remains resilient and strong. Because of poverty Erline's Mom and Dad were unable to progress far with their own education, but they want it to be different for their kids. This scholarship will allow Erline to complete first grade.
