Examine’s father abandoned him when he was 7 years old, and his mother who was his sole caretaker died in the earthquake when he was only 9. Some kind neighbors took him in and he has lived with them to this day. They have even helped him pay for his education when they can, but last year he had to drop out because they couldn't afford to help him. Thanks to the generous support of EM donors he received an EM scholarship and was able to finish school last year. This will be his second scholarship and it will enable him to graduate from high school. After graduation he would like to attend a University to study accounting.

Why Education Matters
Education empowers. EM's Education Scholarships help provide necessary education and mentorship for teenagers and young adults who need a "hand up" towards a better life that presents opportunities that would otherwise be out of reach.
