The Caribbean Immersion team that Liz is a part of is only two weeks away from completing their six-month journey to from the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico to Haiti, Costa Rica, and Jamaica!

Jamaica is our final stop. Jamaica is set up differently then all the other places. Instead of staying with one host family for the duration of our time we will stay with two families. We have been here for about four weeks now and are coming to the end of our first host family. I have never felt so welcomed by a community thus far. Our time in the first home has been great, we go to school with our mom, we play cards with the kids in the house, and eat grater cake. The first couple days is always the worst but once you find the niche you fit right into the family.
Our days lately start off with breakfas and tea, and then off to school. School is usually pretty crazy, kids running around, screaming, laughing, and getting into trouble. We help them with writing their letters, which some know better then others. We have taught the letter 'L', number '2', and a couple shapes. School gets out at 2pm unless it is raining, and if it is they stay until it stops. Here in Jamaica the day is put on hold as soon as the rain starts to fall. Then we go home, where we find peace in our quiet room with our Bibles and books. I look forward to my shower everyday. I have to walk outside where the bath house sits, with four tin walls and a PVC pipe shower head. The cold water is very refreshing after a long day at school. Then, it's dinner time and off to bed for sleep and more school in the morning.

The women here are superstars, hard workers during the day and house moms at night. They come home from a long day at work, whatever that may be, to cooking and cleaning at home. My host mom not only teaches 16 screaming children, but runs her household of nine, all while battling cancer. These women have the strength of our Lord in them, and probably could not do it without him. His strong hands helping through each day.
We move into our last host home tomorrow, it will look something like school, helping with cooking for the children, long walks, and an 8-year-old brother.
The last leg of our trip. We are so close to home I can reach out and touch it (maybe because we are so close to Florida), but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. God has brought us all so far, we have traveled for the last five months and only have one remaining! With Gods help and guidance we will all stay focused and soak up the last few things he has for us to learn.
