In 2013, I went on a missions trip to Haiti with six others from my church. I was only there a week, but it changed my entire perspective on life. I visited homes that were smaller than my bedroom. I saw kids jump roping on the rocky ground with wide smiles on their faces. I was welcomed into homes by women who had nothing but their kindness and a chair to offer me. I played games with orphans who had experienced more devastation in their young lives than I could ever imagine. I stood on top of a hill and saw around me the Caribbean, mountains surrounding me, and those small huts where families called home. I knew I wanted to return…for longer than a week.

In February of 2015, I found myself in my final months of college, working a part-time job, and stressed by the fact that I didn’t know what I’d be doing after graduation. I am a planner, and a planner without a plan is not a fun person to be. Afte
