My Story
I have some exciting news to share! After many months of thought, deliberation, and countless prayers, I have decided to take a break in my professional career to pursue a 3-month mission field opportunity in Israel with Experience Mission. Experience Mission is a non-profit Christian organization that exists to help people love and serve others like Jesus. From January to March 2023, I will be living with host families in Bethlehem, serving in refugee camps and agricultural sites, while building community with various religious leaders in the area. The hope is through this cultural immersion, we can partner and better understand the various perspectives from the middle east.
So, you may ask, why this and why now? During the last five years, I have had many wonderful professional opportunities and have lived in exciting cities. However, I have felt something has been missing. When I think back to the times in my life when I was genuinely joyful, it was usually when I was helping others rather than focusing on myself. Over the years, I have participated in mission trips to Jamaica, Haiti, and throughout the United States and know the life-changing impact serving others can have. I believe the mission field provides a unique opportunity to get outside of your comfort zone and help others.
The cost of the trip is around $8200 which will cover travel, food, housing and visas. We are encouraged to raise the funds to meet our goal.
