Ysrael’s father died when he was only seven years old, and two years later he lost his mother. Ever since that time, he’s been raised by his uncle who has done his best to support him and pay for his education. However, his uncle also has 5 children of his own, and since he has no job and supports the family through his small farm there is no way he can afford to put 6 children through school, so Ysrael has no way to continue his education. However, Ysrael desperately wants to get his education, and he would love to be a mechanic one day. Ysrael lives in a poor rural community and there are very few mechanics there, so he believes that he can make a living as a mechanic and he thinks it is fascinating how mechanics are able to fix things. This scholarship will allow Ysrael to complete one year of school and get closer to his goal of graduating high school.

Why Education Matters
Education empowers. EM's Education Scholarships help provide necessary education and mentorship for teenagers and young adults who need a "hand up" towards a better life that presents opportunities that would otherwise be out of reach.
