Canelise ("Kiki") lost her dad when she was very young, and now she lives with her mom and two older sisters. Since losing her dad life has been very difficult for Canelise and her family, but every time life has knocked them down they've fought back, and they are surviving. Two years ago Canelise was able to graduate high school, and this was a huge accomplishment for her given the financial sacrifice her family made to give her this opportunity. Now she dreams of continuing her education in college, and this scholarship will give her the opportunity to do just that. Canelise loves drawing and she has always had an interest in fashion, so her dream is to one day be a fashion designer.

Why Education Matters
Education empowers. EM's Education Scholarships help provide necessary education and mentorship for teenagers and young adults who need a "hand up" towards a better life that presents opportunities that would otherwise be out of reach.
